Job Title: Development Manager
Organization: National Organization for Women - NYC

The Service Fund of the National Organization for Women New York City seeks an individual with five years experience and a track record raising money for a nonprofit to spearhead a new fundraising program and annual benefit for the organization. The new manager of development, who will report directly to the Executive Director, will play a pivotal role in modernizing cultivating donors and improving donor communication. The person who takes this opportunity will work with the Executive Director to create a development plan for both individual and institutional donors and will serve to coordinate our communications and special fundraising event efforts.

This position offers a unique opportunity to build the fundraising capacity of a long established organization. For the right person, we are offering a self-directed position within a small and growing organization with tremendous name recognition and history.

We are looking for a creative, easy-going, independent, and flexible individual who can create and implement a fundraising program for our organization. Salary and work schedule are open for discussion. This is an ideal position for someone with fundraising experience and contacts in the philanthropic community.

Required:

A bachelors degree
A demonstrated track record in fundraising, grant writing, and management (at least 3 years development experience at a nonprofit strongly preferred)
Experience with high level individual donors and foundations
An ability to work independently and within a small group
Strong computer skills including a general knowledge of database software
Budgeting experience
Strong organizational skills
Strong writing skills
