| Description: | The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) works at the state and national levels to prevent sexual violence. Incepted in 1975, PCAR continues to use its voice to challenge public attitudes, raise public awareness, and effect critical changes in public policy, protocols, and responses to sexual violence. The Communications Assistant supports the activities of PCAR's Communications Department. Activities include coordinating an annual statewide Sexual Assault Awareness Campaign with PA's network of 51 rape crisis centers; coordinating PCAR activities with the Pennsylvania State University in addressing the issues of sexual violence prevention and response; assisting with other events including the annual Vision of Hope Gala; coordinating PCAR Social Media efforts; website updates; and staffing public awareness events. This position provides graphic design for print materials and assists with writing, editing, and proofreading documents. Occasional travel is required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Public Health, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related concentration from four-year college or university. At least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in community education/community outreach preferably at an at an anti-sexual violence or public health program.
