| Description: | Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Program Director and the clinical supervision of the Clinical Director, coordinate trainings for staff and volunteers; manage volunteer program; and conduct community education and outreach. Position Responsibilities and Duties: 1.Annually develop and implement training plan and in-service training, based on an assessment of training needs within the agency, complete with annual timeline and budget and with ability to revise plan when unexpected training needs arise 2.Conduct a minimum of three state mandated 40-hour domestic violence advocate trainings annually 3.Recruit, train, supervise, retain and evaluate core of volunteers, with emphasis on expanding the pool of available volunteers to be assigned as crisis line counselors, children's program aides, intake counselors, court advocates, and office/clerical help 4.Provide ongoing training and supervision of volunteers with particular attention to crisis line volunteers 5.Collaborate with program staff of Haven Hills projects to create and implement new volunteer opportunities 6.Coordinate and supervise volunteers at annual agency fundraising event 7.Develop and maintain training materials (curriculum and information sheets) taking care to use up-to-date, accurate information with appropriate attributions 8.Develop, implement and maintain evaluation procedures for all training activities with appropriate forms and analysis and use evaluation information to shape future training sessions 9.Provide domestic violence training for community service providers who work with domestic violence victims 10.Attend community and task force meetings 11.Provide education and outreach through community events or requested workshops 12.Ensure complete and accurate documentation of all training activities, community education, and community meetings attended and provided by all Haven Hills staff 13.Maintain a system of tracking data for volunteers, trainings, and meetings 14.Assist in the preparation of reports for funders 15.Coordinate and implement activities with volunteer recognition and appreciation, and performance evaluation 16.Other related duties, as assigned Minimum Qualifications: 1.Bachelor's degree in social services or related field 2.Work experience in the domestic violence field 3.Completion of 40-hour state mandated domestic violence advocate training certificate 4.Hotline experience 5.3 years experience as a trainer 6.Exceptional speaking and writing skills 7.Experience with supervising others 8.Excellent communication, active listening, and conflict resolution skills 9.Must work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team 10.Must be comfortable working in non-traditional or shelter setting; must be flexible, open-minded, and adaptable 11.Ability to work with diverse cultures, communities, and professional groups 12.Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task 13.Bilingual, bicultural highly desirable 14.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, volunteers, board members, and the community 15.Must be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel 16.Ability to enter information accurately and timely into a database for required program and government reports 17.Must have a valid California driver's license, an automobile that may be used during work hours, and maintain adequate auto insurance 18.Must undergo fingerprinting, TB testing, and drug testing, as required |
