| Description: | RESPONSIBILITIES: -Research, identify and define funding sources to support existing and planned program activities -Preparation of proposals and grant applications in response to solicitations in accordance with CEG's preferences and guidelines -Preparation of supporting documents for proposals and grant applications in accordance with CEG's preferences and guidelines -Establish clear timelines for the completion of all proposals and grant applications -Produce technical grant proposals within discrete timeframes in accordance with CEG's preferences and guidelines -Design graphs, charts, and visuals to illustrate key concepts -Develop workable implementation plans for proposals and grant applications -Review the budget of a project or program for which funding is sought and make recommendations to better present it to grant-making organizations. -Develop logic models for grant applications and current programs; -Creates and implements a funding calendar for internal use; QUALIFICATIONS: -Bachelor's degree in public health, health education, social sciences -2 or more years experience in non-profit work, preferably focused on a relevant field such as HIV/AIDS, or minority populations -2 or more years experience in grant writing/proposal development on the City, State and Federal levels; -Proven track record in securing funding -Ability to quickly grasp the history and program services of CEG and incorporate them into the requirements of a proposal -Ability to synthesize complex and/or diverse information -Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities -Ability to work independently, but also strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team -Understands CEG's strengths and weaknesses; identifies external threats and opportunities; adapts strategy to changing conditions -Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills required -Highly organized, detail oriented and accurate -Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced small office environment -Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is essential -Knowledge of SPSS -Personal enthusiasm, optimism, sense of humor. Salary: DOE HOURS: This is a full-time position. Hours of employment are Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:00pm. About Community Education Group: CEG is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on the creation and expansion of programs and projects, which address the health, socio-economic, environmental and systemic challenges facing the African American family. We are dedicated to helping communities hardest hit by HIV/AIDS and other health disparities, and the community-based organizations that serve them. CEG's focus is on developing programs and plans which can be replicated elsewhere. CEG has developed innovative educational programs to serve communities hardest hit by HIV/AID. CEG assists communities of color in overcoming cultural and systemic barriers to accessing critical HIV/AIDS information, and have facilitated community-directed processes aimed at building bridges to health, planning/policy, and funding processes.
