Intern's responsibilities will include, but will not be limited -Assisting the Communications Manager of the NAME IT. CHANGE IT. project -Tracking and reviewing media coverage of candidates -Contributing to our blog -Monitoring print, TV and online media for sexist coverage -Researching media requests, email blasts, assisting with content management and other duties as assigned. -Assisting with our Progressive Women's Voices training August 24-26 The ideal candidate is media-savvy with a solid understanding of journalism, media advocacy and/or feminism or gender studies. Good writers wanted! Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook, have good organizational skills, and pay excellent attention to detail. Experience or interest in journalism a plus. This internship is located in Washington, DC, in a Metro-accessible location close to Farragut North/West. A commitment of a minimum of two days a week is required. Currently recruiting interns for Fall 2012. Start date is flexible but the internship ends after the election in early November. This internship is unpaid, though WMC will support those applicants who are seeking academic credit through their home institution.
