The Information Technology Department (IT) of the National office in New York City is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Associate Director of IT/Internet Technology. OVERVIEW The Associate Director of IT/Internet Technology is responsible for the development and maintenance of our Internet presence, electronic marketing and communications programs, e-Constituent Relations Management (e-CRM) system, web technologies and Intranet in support of and collaboration with Communications, Development and Affiliate Support and Advocacy counterpoints. The Associate Director of IT/Internet Technology reports to the Director of Information Technology. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Associate Director of IT/Internet Technology is responsible for maintaining and assuring the proper technical operation of the ACLU's Internet and Intranet Websites and electronic marketing and communication tools. The Associate Director addresses technical and administrative issues of the ACLU online presence in support of staff in multiple departments who focus on Website design and content and serves as the liaison with technology vendors and ACLU staff/departments. The Associate Director: Manages the operation and implementation of an integrated e-CRM system to support online fundraising, activism and e-marketing activities. Oversees the web and Intranet development, administration, support and maintenance of the ACLU's Internet and Intranet Websites and resolves related technical problems. Serves as the internal project manager for Web-related development and enhancement projects, including prioritizing resource allocation and managing internal IT Web Staff and external vendors. Consults with the Communications Department to coordinate ongoing enhancements and maintenance of the Websites, including serving as point person for ACLU personnel in creating and maintaining processes/procedures for new sites; training staff on the use of and troubleshooting problems with the Content Management Systems and online fundraising and activism tools; and collaborating with IT and program staff to troubleshoot, test and oversee the launch of new Website features and functionality. Serves as an interface between vendors, ACLU employees and Website visitors, including but not limited to working with external vendors on technology improvements requested by ACLU employees and users, and solving problems (e.g., corrupted content, security breaches, software failures, hardware malfunctions and browser compatibility issues). Supports the program for affiliate e-marketing including training, implementation and monitoring of affiliate compliance with privacy and security requirements. Implements and monitors security and privacy policies and PCI compliance, as it applies to the Websites and social media presence. Oversees technical implementation of an external facing mobile strategy. Provides input on the Websites' architecture, systems design and development, operation, policies and procedures. Identifies and implements new technology needs such as enhanced server architecture and automated security tools. For ACLU Management, oversees the production of IT monthly reports about Website visitors and online activity (e.g., traffic volumes, online registrations, donations/advocacy actions and other engagements, popular search strings, popular issues and website downtime). Provides strategic advice on web technologies and operations for National and affiliates. Provides technical oversight of ACLU Intranet. Tracks and budgets Website-related expenses. Supervises Internet Technology Support staff. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Website management including: Five years of technical experience with the Web, specifically with public Websites, Intranets, e-communications and online transaction tools. A Bachelor?s degree. Experience in developing requirements for and in selecting Web technologies. Experience managing CMS and eCRM systems and rights and permissions; Drupal, Salesforce and ExactTarget preferred. Project management experience, specifically with website development projects. Command of current programming technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML and XML required. Understanding of server-side web scripting languages such as ASP and PHP preferred. Familiarity with web and database server administration: Drupal, Linux Apache, mySQL, Microsoft?s Internet Information Services and Microsoft SQL Server preferred. Familiarity with web security and privacy issues. Strong administrative and project management skills to carry out and direct the efforts of various vendors, co-workers, and staff to continuously update the functionality of the websites. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills, a customer service orientation and the ability to implement projects in a team-oriented environment. Must be self-starter, be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Experience with online programs for non-profit organizations with large advocacy and membership constituencies is a plus. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint a plus.
