GREENPEACE FELLOWSHIPS:

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Greenpeace is looking for an individual who is energetic and passionate about the environment that wants an opportunity to learn about fundraising and can assist with many projects within the Development Department.

The Development Fellow is responsible for providing administrative and project support to the Development Administrator and the Development Department. Projects involve compiling and submitting data requests to obtain data pulls for our donor mailings, database cleaning and maintenance of donor files, merging documents to send out acknowledgments and tailored information packets. Other tasks will include: data entry with donor info in database, spreadsheets maintenance, and maintenance of our Development areas to upkeep of current materials, records and supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. General Development
a) Process all incoming checks for various teams within Development
b) Responsible for file retention containing donor information
c) Write acknowledgments for middle donor program, merge files, and mail the letters
d) Thank you calls to donors
e) Send out materials to staff in other offices
f) Monitor petitions

2. Assist Planned Giving
a) Gather materials (data, letter, inserts, etc.) for in-house mailings
b) Sending out acknowledgments and information packets
c) Data entry for responses from mailings and inquiries
d) Updating donor accounts in Team Approach and file hard copies
e) File maintenance and purging projects
f) Estate file maintenance

3. Assist Major Gifts
a) Mail merges and data clean-up
b) Project support as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:
-Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
-Excellent attention to detail
-Proficiency in Word and Excel
-Experience working with a membership database a plus
-Excellent multi-tasking skills
-Prior experience in a non-profit organization and development/fundraising knowledge a plus

COMPENSATION:

$10/hr, full-time, paid holidays and sick time, $40/month in metro vouchers

DURATION:

Six month contract
