NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is seeking highly motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Our canvass runs year round so that we can hold politicians accountable, pass pro-choice legislation, and build our base of support. Let?s use the momentum from the elections to win major battles for reproductive rights in 2013! Job description: Our team of community organizers allows NARAL to have a presence across the state of Washington. Through door-to-door canvassing, we identify and mobilize our pro-choice supporters. We also do small donor fundraising. Being a part of our canvass is an excellent way to build skills as an organizer and fundraiser. The first half of the workday is training and issue education. During the legislative session we will go to Senate and House hearings on reproductive rights legislation. The second half of the workday consists of being a NARAL Pro-Choice Washington representative. You will update people on current reproductive rights issues, collect donations, recruit volunteers, and remind people of the strength of grassroots organizing. All of this allows us to achieve our organization?s goal to create a world that respects each individual?s right to reproductive freedom and privacy. Hours: Monday-Friday 1:30pm-10pm Full-time and part-time positions are available. Full-time is M-F 1:30pm-10pm; part-time is 3 or 4 of these days with the same hours. For part-time work the days are flexible, but the hours are the same. While we will be working on targeted issues throughout the year, this is not a seasonal position. The position is needed year-round to maintain a mobilized base. Benefits: We offer both health insurance and dental coverage for full-time employees. Holiday, sick and vacation pay. Comprehensive training program: Our training program lasts from 2-4 weeks and is paid. Participants will gain the skills necessary to be professional issue organizers and fundraisers. We are also looking to promote leadership from within the organization. |
