Patrice, Spring 2007

PatricePatrice is a senior at Westfield State College in Western Mass. , and will graduate in May with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications a concentration in journalism and a minor in Political Science. She has spent most of her life living in a rural town 20 minutes outside of Boston . She is the youngest child of three and loves being the baby. Patrice has been a dancer since she was a toddler and she continues to be passionate about dance although she has had to temporarily give it up. After graduation Patrice plan to move back to the Boston area and begin Law school, where she hopes to use her law degree defending victims of discrimination and oppression. At Ms. she has helped plan and coordinate for the Ms. Cruise, working on anything random that needs to be done and the oh so exciting ad calls! In her spare time Patrice enjoy reading, dancing, writing and hanging out with FMF interns.

Why did you decide to intern at FMF?
I decided to intern at FMF/Ms. because I have always had a passion to write and work for the women's movement, and I felt that it would be a great blend of the two.

What does feminism mean to you?
I identify myself as a feminist because I believe in equal rights for all, regardless of sex, race, gender or sexual preference

What are you working on now?
I have just finished organizing the annual Ms. Cruise and I am now currently working on outreach and promotion for the upcoming Spring issue as well as our “Women in Prison” program.
