Violence Against Women Resources
Visit the Feminist Majority Foundation's listing of reviewed links on violence against women. Dealing with a range of topics, from stalking to emotional abuse, each site is reviewed by an FMF staff member, as are all recommended links on our site.

Domestic Violence Fact Sheet
A brief listing of facts on domestic violence from the Feminist Majority Foundation and other reliable sources, this resource is great for debates and campus event teach-ins on violence against women.

The Comforter Network
The Comforter Network has been formed to increase public awareness about the reality of sexual abuse and to make comforters to be donated to shelters which help survivors of sexual abuse.

Communities Against Violence Network (CAVNET)
CAVNET is a comprehensive, searchable database for information about violence against women. They have articles on everything from welfare reform and domestic violence to violence against immigrant women to Rohypnol, the "date rape drug" to legal information and statistics.

Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services, Inc. (CONNSACS)
This site serves as a statewide network of individual sexual assault crisis centers and provides access to programs working to end sexual violence through victim assistance, community education, and public policy advocacy.

National Clearinghouse on Marital and Date Rape
This organization of consultants, researchers, speakers, and resources for legal and medical advocates, writers, the media, students, and concerned campus and community members provides research and accepts data and information on marital and date rape. The site also provides numerous links and online resources regarding sexual assault and domestic violence.

National Organization for Women: Violence Against Women
Get informed on the issues, check out recent newsbriefs, and take action online.

Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN)
RAINN , founded by singer-songwriter Tori Amos, operates the nation's only toll-free hotline for survivors of sexual assault. The hotline is operated 24 hours a day, and routes each call instantaneously to the rape crisis center nearest the caller. All centers on the network provide counseling and support, and each call is confidential. 1-800-656-HOPE

Sexual Assault Training & Investigations (SATI)
SATI provides victim-centered, multi-disciplinary training and expert consultation regarding crimes of sexual assault.

Sexual Assault Information Page
With a wide sampling of referrals, this site contains information concerning sexual assault, rape, child sexual abuse/assault, ritual abuse, incest, and sexual harassment. Also featured are a free bi-monthly newsletter, frequently asked questions, and announcements.

Women Against a Violent Environment (WAVE)
Initiated to increase public awareness of the murders of Rochester, NY area women, the site contains a short list of what you can do, and contact addresses/numbers.

State Crisis Centers and Hotlines
The Feminist Majority Foundation offers contact information for sexual assault and rape resources in every state. If you are a staff member at a state resource center and want to add your center to our listing, please email us.

The Awareness Center
This site contains resources and research about sexual abuse in the Jewish Community. Also provides resources available to survivors and where to go for help within the Jewish Community.

The Clothesline Project
This site explains the history and purpose of The Clothesline Project; which provides an opportunity for female survivors of sexual assault to voice their experience and to unify through their transformation from victim to survivor. After visiting the site, find out what students are doing about violence against women in FMF's Choices Campus Community bulletin boards.

Domestic Violence Project, Inc./Safe House
This organization offers support for survivors of domestic violence, including both men and women, straight people and gays and lesbians (as explicitly stated on their home page). Added features include information on preventative programs, education for children, shelters, and a 24-hour hotline number.

The Healing Woman
A grassroots project for survivors of childhood sexual abuse and incest, the Healing Woman Foundation began as a monthly newsletter by, for, and about strong survivors helping each other through their healing process. Subscribe to the newsletter, find resources, and share your story with other survivors online.

Homesafe Rape Crisis Web Page
Get resources on date rape, sexual assault, incest, male rape, and a range of other topics dealing with violence on this great resource. The site also ncludes a free ListServ for people interested in discussing rape and sexual abuse.

Legal Statutes
A long maze of links to both domestic and international legal statutes on sexual assault and other statutes related to violence against women. This site does not list legal statutes for all states and countries, but it does provide detailed accounts for the listed collection.

Rape Victim Advocacy Program
In addition to a 24-hour rape victim help line, this advocacy group operates a web site with information on child and adult sexual assault and abuse, plus information on how to find a good counselor and what to expect from therapy.

The Survivor's Page
This colorful, award-winning page designed to be a comfort and outlet for survivors of sexual abuse and rape is a good place to network. It includes a list of related organizations as well as interactive chat rooms, a writing, letters and poetry section, e-mail lists and a posting area. It has a section on Real Audio clips with survivors' stories.

Campus Resources

Campus Outreach Services
C.O.S. specializes in developing date rape and sexual assault prevention programs for high schools and colleges. The site offers information on bringing speakers to your campus or school, free web research on sexual violence, lobbying for sexual assault-related legislation, and more.

Security on Campus
A site entirely devoted to college students, particularly women, and to preventing sexual assault and rape on campus. Learn about the law, campus safety ordinances, and how to get your college or university to comply. You will also find a list of resources for women who have been assaulted.

Resources for Men

National Organization for Men Against Sexism
The National Organization for Men Against Sexism is "an activist organization of men and women supporting positive changes for men" to bring about a society free from restrictive gender roles that harm both men and women. The group is pro-feminist, gay-affirmative, and anti-racist, and offers a range of resources on preventing violence against women.

Men Can Stop Rape
This group works to prevent rape and other forms of male violence through community education, consulting, research, and public action. This site offers links to action men can take, what Men Can Stop Rape can offer, and why it matters.

Men for Change
Pro-feminist men dialog with women to end sexism and oppression. Topic links include how to create healthy relationships: a violence-prevention curriculum, the personal and the political more masculine vistas, and the voices of women.

FMF's Resources from the Beijing Fourth World Conference on Women
View FMF staff's reports from the field, platform gains for women's rights, challenges to women's rights, testimony by women leaders, and more in our Global Feminism section, with much of the focus on violence against women and much attention devoted to preventing such violence.

U.S. Department of Justice Violence Against Women Office
This extensive site provides information on state, regional, and national resources, links to police departments with domestic violence pages, fact sheets, and many other links. It also includes government information on domestic violence including legislation, reports and studies, speeches, and press releases.
