Job Title: Design and Social Media Intern
Organization: Class Action
Region: Midwest
Description: Class Action is a Boston-based small but inspiring national non-profit that raises awareness of the harm caused by classism (prejudice based on social class). We put out a vision of a world without classism, where everyone is treated with respect and everyone has enough. Our program work includes popular education workshops, first-generation student support groups, publications, and a website (www.classism.org). We are connected with a bigger national non-profit, the Institute for Policy Studies (http://www.ips-dc.org/).

The Design and Social Media will create the graphic design for Class Action and IPS publications: a newsletter, promotional brochures, event flyers and possibly other materials. For Class Action?s Facebook pages, Twitter feed, Classism Exposed blog, and the classism.org website, this intern will increase Class Action?s electronic following; post and share new content; do Search Engine Optimization; improve the Facebook page; solicit cross-links; build listserv; look for classism in the news and popular culture and find links to post. Motivated intern could design interactive web features &/or write blog posts. This will be a great resume builder for a student who wants tangible products to show future employers.
