Job Title: Groundskeeper

Description: Facilities Management has an immediate opening for a full-time Groundskeeper to perform a variety of manual work associated with the care and maintenance of the grounds at Towson University.

Responsibilities: Plant, water, fertilize, weed, mow, and mulch; remove refuse and rubbish to maintain roads, storm drains, parking lots and garages, stadium, and athletic fields; operate and maintain manual and power equipment; apply pesticides; and drive grounds vehicles and equipment; and perform other duties as may be assigned. Scheduled work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm. This is an Essential Personnel position for emergency preparedness- snow and ice removal, special events, storm damage, power outages, etc.

Requirements: Ability to read and write; operate and perform minor maintenance on related equipment; perform physical work including heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, heights, and working in all weather conditions; and a valid Class C driver's license with no more than 5 points. Must pass a physical exam. Grounds keeping experience highly desirable with working knowledge of tools, equipment, and landscape techniques. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.

Salary: $21,280 annually with full University benefits that include 10 days of annual leave, up to 14 holidays, personal and sick days; tuition remission; and excellent health, life, and retirement plans. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
