American and Iranian Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Demand a Peaceful Solution to Iran-U.S. Conflict

Ms. Williams and Ms. Ebadi are members of the newly founded Women Nobel Peace Laureates’ Initiative which also includes Betty Williams (Ireland, 1977) and Wangari Maathai (Kenya, 2004). They are currently in Los Angeles to receive the Global Women’s Rights Award from the Feminist Majority Foundation. In a joint statement Williams and Ebadi declared, “We demand a non-violent world where human security is the basis of our common global security. In such a world the basic needs of all peoples are addressed Ð global security is enhanced when individuals and their families have a stake in and hope for their own futures. No more military attacks. No more war.”
