The Feminist Majority Foundation today announced the dates of the upcoming National Collegiate Global Women’s and Human Rights Conference, to be held April 3-5, 2005 in Washington, DC. The conference, expected to attract hundreds of college students, will connect the dots between the need to build a national constituency to increase international family planning and health funding aid, to reverse the Global Gag Rule on abortion, to ratify international treaties for human rights and the environment, to combat sweatshops, and to promote non-violence and peace. Workshops and panels will include student leaders, and leaders in the women’s rights, anti-slavery, anti-globalization, human rights, peace, and environmental movements.
The Feminist Majority Foundation runs the Choices Campus Leadership Program, the largest pro-choice college organizing program in the nation. Students from FMF campus groups, as well as student leaders from other progressive groups, including those working on civil rights, human rights, anti-sweatshop movements, and peace, are invited to participate.
