Rep. Morella Introduces Women’s Health Office Act

Representative Constance Morella (R-MD) and 31 cosponsors today introduced a bill that could potentially refocus the federal government’s perspective on women. The Women’s Health Office Act of 2001 would establish women’s health offices in 5 federal agencies–the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration. President Bush closed the White House Office on Women’s Initiatives with little fanfare in March 2001.
