Halloween Hell House Terrorizes Teens

The “Halloween Hell House,” sponsored by Colorado’s Abundant Life Christian Center is back this year with scare tactics aimed at terrorizing teens with scenes of death and destruction centered around controversial social issues, such as abortion, teen sex, and AIDS. In one scene, visitors see a gay couple’s bed replaced after a few years with a hospital bed, as one of the partners lies dying of AIDS. Other scenes threaten HIV infection to teens who have pre-marital sex. Associate Pastor Keenan Roberts said he hopes to “have the seeds of faith planted, renewed, or confirmed” in every visitor. When asked for her reaction to the “haunted house,” Suzanne Banning, executive director of Colorado Legal Initiatives Project said, “It’s tough to comment on something that’s so ignorant.”
