Afghan Women Publish Magazine

Four Afghan women journalists have begun publishing Woman’s Mirror, a weekly four-page women’s magazine “to improve the understanding and knowledge of Afghan women in our society,” according to editor Shukria Barekzai Dawi. The magazine has produced only three issues so far and makes only 1,000 copies per week, but according to a BBC report, demand appears to be high. Barekzai Dawi would like to expand the operation but must be able to access more resources. Woman’s Mirror, published in two languages, includes sections for news, education, health and Islam, features, beauty, and cooking.
