Air Force Sergeants Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Two Air Force Sergeants have been charged with “unprofessional relationships” with female students at Brooks Air Force Base.

Master Sgt. Mark Gibson is accused of having sex with two women and harassing a third and faces a maximum of 21 years in prison if convicted. Tech. Sgt. Apolinar Paul Bernal is charged with having a sexual relationship with two female students, groping a third, and attempting to develop a sexual relationship with a fourth. He faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted.

Both sergeants have been indicted with various military code violations and have been dismissed from their positions as instructors at the Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine.
