Three abortion clinics in Central Florida were vandalized this weekend, and police suspect that the incidents may be linked.
Vandals bored holes through window frames and poured or sprayed substances into each of the three clinics, which included Orlando’s National Women’s Health Organization and Daytona Beach’s Family Planning Center and Women’s Health Center Incorporated. In two of the clinics, the substances were identified as acids. The Family Planning Center was hit with a foul-smelling substance thought to be butyric acid.
The clinics suffered little damage and no one was injured. A burglar alarm was activated at the Family Planning Center clinics, but the vandals had already gone when officials arrived.
