Ward Connerly’s efforts to place anti-affirmative action initiatives of the November ballots in five states have hit roadblocks. The measures would ban affirmative action for women and people of color in public education, public employment, and public contracting. They have had disastrous impact in states such as California, where they have been approved.
The measure failed to gather necessary signatures in both Missouri and Oklahoma.
In Colorado some petition signers have filed formal complaints charging the petitioners with fraud. Signature drives continue in Nebraska and Arizona.
