Former right-wing author David Brock now says that he knowingly published false, derogatory allegations against Anita Hill and that he was used by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to discredit Hill. He confesses to “dumping virtually every derogatory–and often contradictory–allegation I had collected on Hill into the vituperative mix.”
In addition to recanting many of the unfounded allegations he printed in “The Real Anita Hill,” Brock also claims that an intermediary between him and Thomas, Mark Paoletta, gave him unsubstantiated information on Kaye Savage. He said that he then approached Savage, who reported that Thomas had an extensive pornography collection in 1994’s “Strange Justice,” and threatened to ruin her reputation if she did not recant her statements.
