Brooke Shields and Tony Award winner Cherry Jones will portray a lesbian couple in the true story about a woman who must fight her deceased partner’s parents for custody of the couple’s child. “What Makes a Family” airs Monday night on Lifetime at 9 p.m. (EST) and is sponsored by the Feminist Majority Foundation, Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, National Partnership for Women and Families, National Women’s Law Center, NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund, and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).
