A Los Angeles businessman who frequently traveled to Japan on business and was fluent in Japanese is charged with drugging and raping a Japanese tourist who became separated from her fellow travelers.
Keven Hugh Lewis was charged with forcible rape, rape by drugs, and penetration by a foreign object and was taken into custody on Sunday, the day after the alleged attack.
The unnamed woman told authorities that Lewis had befriended her after she got separated from her tour group, and had taken her dinner. After dinner, he took her to his condominium, where the alleged rape occurred, and later dropped her off where he had found her. The woman returned to her hotel, where her fellow travelers noticed that she was not well and appeared confused. They took her to a hospital and later was referred to a rape treatment center.
