This Saturday, September 15th, CODEPINK, along with V-Day, WAND, Institute for Policy Studies, Coalition Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran, and the National Congress of Black Women will sponsor a Women’s Convergence at 10:30 am at Freedom Plaza. The rally will then join the mass march with several other peace organizations at 12 from the White House to the Capitol to kick-off a week (September 15-21) of major peace mobilization efforts, called the Days of Action.
The march follows the testimony of General David Petraeus before Congress, where several activists were thrown out of hearings and some were even arrested for disruptive behavior. Speakers at the rally at the White House will also include Cindy Sheehan, who was among those arrested earlier this week, Ralph Nader, and Adan Kokesh, co-chair of Iraq Veterans Against the War.
Later that Saturday evening, CODEPINK will also be hosting a party from 8:30 to midnight at Eastern Market, the 7th and North Carolina SE entrance.
