A coalition of 60 moderate House and Senate Republicans, the Republican Main Street Partnership, sent a letter to President Bush urging support for embryonic stem cell research. The letter follows statements from conservative anti-abortion Senators including Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and a letter from another coalition of 30 House Republicans supporting federal funding of embryonic stem cell research last week.
