Danica Patrick First Woman to Win Indy Race

Danica Patrick won the Indy Japan 300 on Sunday, making her the first woman in history to win an IndyCar race. In 2005, Patrick also made history by being the first woman to place fourth in the Indy 500 race.

When asked by AFP if she thought there were disadvantages for her racing as a woman, she said, “Well, I think that the disadvantage to overcome was just that I hadn’t won.”
