A Egyptian man locked his 22-year-old daughter in a small, windowless room for 108 days after her 80-year-old husband divorced her.
Police found her in a “weak and frail” state while searching a neighboring home for weapons and brought her to a hospital. Madiha Abdu Ali told police that her father had deprived her of food and water and said that she survived only because her brother managed to bring her limited food and water.
Ali said she married her former husband in order to escape her stepmother and father and also charged that her father had attempted to kill her after her divorce.
