Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the world’s largest voluntary family planning organization, honored individuals and organizations in the media that have made significant contributions to women’s reproductive freedom at its annual conference this weekend. The Feminist Majority Foundation won a Maggie Award in the Internet category for www.feminist.org. Specifically mentioned was the feminist.org Daily Feminist News, Take Action Center, and Campaign to Stop Gender Apartheid in Afghanistan. Other honorees included Queen Latifa for a talkshow episode on convincing teen girls to delay motherhood until they are adults, Richard North Patterson for his novel “Protect and Defend” that tackled parental consent and late-term abortion laws, and Shari Roan for her LA Times Health articles.
