FMF Campus Group Receives Honors

In a speech delivered at the awards ceremony, Rape Education and Prevention Coordinator Deb Schipper said, “The Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance (FMLA) is a new student organization on campus this year, and has quickly made itself known as an extraordinary, energetic group of women…We are constantly encouraged by the willingness of these young women to devote time and energy to the feminist cause, and we recognize them as an emerging political force for change on campus.”

Ohio State’s FMLA has participated in a variety of protests and actions to increase awareness on the issues of sexual assault, reproductive rights, and discrimination against gay and lesbian individuals. Several of the group’s members received separate awards for community service, community leadership, and advocacy.
