Gender Gap in Heart Disease Research Persists

Feminists thought we had won the battle for inclusion of women in heart disease studies. However, according to a study published in today’s Journal of the American Medical Association, a significant gender gap persists. Between 1991 and 2000, only 25% of those enrolled in heart disease studies were women, despite the fact that 43% of heart attack patients are women.
