Huerta Honored for Lifetime of Activism

This weekend, the Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives and the National Hispana Leadership Institute honored activist, United Farm Workers co-founder and founding Feminist Majority board member Dolores Huerta with the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal. Huerta was honored for her dedication to workers’ and Latina rights. She participated in the event via video, as she is still recovering from a ruptured aorta.
