Kentucky Bill Would Require Ultrasound for Abortion Patients

A bill recently introduced in the Kentucky state legislature would require women seeking abortions to first undergo an ultrasound. The bill would also require doctors to then review the results of the ultrasound with the woman, according to Associated Press.

Doctors who fail to review the ultrasound results with their patients would face a fine of up to $100,000 for a first offense and $250,000 for each subsequent offense, reports WBKO News.

“The bills are not designed to help a woman make an informed choice about continuing her pregnancy or not,” said Elizabeth Nash, a public policy associate with the Guttmacher Institute. “Instead, they’re designed to actively steer her away from choosing an abortion.” funny pictures funny images funny photos funny animal pictures funny dog pictures funny cat pictures funny gifs
