Kentucky Senate Passes Anti-abortion Bill

A bill that forces a doctor to perform an ultrasound test prior to every abortion and to show the images to each woman seeking an abortion has passed the Kentucky Senate, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. Doctors would be required to have a face-to-face meeting with the woman 24 hours prior to the abortion. In addition the bill included language banning the so-called partial birth abortion. According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, “House Speaker Jody Richards said he cannot predict the outcome of the vote on the bill.”
