Leadership Alliances Make Headlines During One Million Voice Commemoration of Roe v Wade

Hundreds of members from Feminist Majority Leadership Alliances and community groups took action during the One Million Voices week of reproductive rights activism to support safe, legal, and accessible abortion. The IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance’s One Million Voices events were prominently featured in their campus newspaper. The group celebrated Roe vs. Wade with an anniversary cake, showed FMF’s “Never Go Back” video, hung pro-choice signs on hangers across campus, wore pro-choice t-shirts, and hosted a pro-choice coffee talk. The CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY (CMU) Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance was featured several times in their campus newspaper in recognition of their march and rally celebrating the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, as well as their forum on gender apartheid in Afghanistan, which included a film screening of FMF’s film “Shroud of Silence” and “The Taliban: A Prayer for Hate.” In addition, CMU FMLA President Jessica Siewertsen submitted an editorial about the impending threat to Roe vs. Wade, which was published during One Million Voices. The INDIANA UNIVERSITY-BLOOMINGTON Leadership Alliance also made headlines on their campus paper after their One Million Voices events, which included a hanger display with facts on abortion rights. Congratulations to all the Leadership Alliances that participated in One Million Voices.
