NAF to Launch $2M Public Ed Campaign on Mifepristone

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) announced this week that it will launch a massive public education campaign on Mifepristone (RU-486), the early abortion pill that was approved by the FDA last September. NAF is the professional organization of abortion providers in the U.S. and Canada. “Our campaign is aimed at ensuring that women facing an unintended pregnancy have the information they need to make the choice that’s best for them,” said Vicki Saporta, NAF Executive Director. The campaign will feature ads in Self, People, and 11 other national magazines starting in July. The ads will offer information about Mifepristone, as well as direct viewers to their toll-free hotline (1-800-772-9100) and website. The $2 million campaign is expected to reach 70% of women in the United States ages 18-49.
