National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 1st 2008

The American Heart Association is asking all of us to wear red this Friday, February 1st, to raise awareness that heart disease is the #1 killer of women. Grab something crimson from your closet and get this life-saving message across!

WHAT TO WEAR: National Wear Red Day as its own dress code. Wear your favorite red clothes or accessory — a red pin or scarf or fabulous handbag. Wear red lipstick or sport red socks. Go red in your fashion to show your support for the fight against heart disease.

WHY YOU SHOULD WEAR RED: Too few people realize that heart disease is the number one killer of women–and men. But the good news is that heart disease can often be prevented. Spreading the “Go For Red for Women” message to Love Your Heart raises awareness of heart disease and empowers women to reduce their risk.
