National Women’s Hall of Fame to Honor New Inductees

The 25th annual National Women’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for July 10-12, a date that marks the 150 year anniversary of the first women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York. Inductees this year include US Secretary of State Madeline Albright and poet Maya Angelou.

Other inductees expected to attend include Special Olympics founder Eunice Shriver, Ambassador Rozanne Ridgway, former head of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Shirley Ann Jackson, and Hospice founder Florence Wald.

Deceased women who will be honored at the ceremony are Lydia Moss Bradley, Mary Ann Shedd Cary, Nellie Bly, Gerty Theresa Radnitz Cori, Sarah Grimke and Angelina Grimke Weld, Julia Ward Howe, Katherine Dexter McCormick, Edith Nourse Rogers, Felice N. Schwartz, and Chien-Shiung Wu.
