President Obama called the Seattle Storm yesterday to applaud them on winning their second WNBA title. According to a White House press release, the President said he also commended the team’s success during the regular season and their undefeated playoff run. The Storm went undefeated in the three-game playoffs against the Atlanta Dream last week. The President told team members they are an inspiration to his daughters, Sasha and Malia, who both play basketball. Members of the Storm organization, including team CEO and President Karen Bryant; Storm center Ashley Robinson; and two representatives from Force 10 Hoops LLC, which owns the team, were on the call with the President, reported the Seattle Times. President Obama plans to meet the team in person at the White House.
