Oklahoma’s anti-choice governor Frank Keating (R) signed a bill that will hold doctors liable for “physical and emotional injuries” suffered by a minor if they do not obtain parental consent prior to providing an abortion for the minor. The law does not prohibit the doctor from performing the abortion without parental consent, but pressures her/him to obtain consent and makes her/him legally liable “for the cost of any subsequent medical treatment such minor might require because of the abortion.”
