The Diocese of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania announced that it is transferring priest Bill Hausen to another parish after Hausen, in a homily delivered on Easter Sunday, called for women to be ordained and expressed anger at the Roman Catholic Church for the child sexual abuse scandal. “If that homily had not been delivered, he may not be transferred now,” said diocese spokesman Rev. Ronald Lengwin. “There’s no question that that was the catalyst.” Hausen has since apologized to his congregation for his remarks, which he noted were his “personal opinion.”
