Rudolph Named to FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List; Reward for Capture Now $1 Million

The FBI has named Birmingham, AL clinic bombing suspect Eric Robert Rudolph to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List and increased the reward for his capture from $100,000 to $1 million in an attempt to gain more tips and leads from the public. Attorney General Janet Reno, FBI Director Louis Freeh, and John W. Magaw, director of the Treasury’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms made the formal announcement at a press conference today.

Federal officials have discovered similarities that link the Birmingham, Alabama abortion clinic bombing with earlier bombings of a gay nightclub, Atlanta Northside Family Planning Services and the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. They have also uncovered physical evidence, including nails and steel plates, that links Rudolph to several of the bombs.
