So-Called “Child Custody Protection Act” Reintroduced

The “Child Custody Protection Act” has been reintroduced in Congress yesterday. The bill, which passed in the House last year before it was defeated in the Senate, would make it a federal misdemeanor for an adult to transport a minor over state lines to evade parental notification laws and obtain an abortion.

This year’s bill was introduced by Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and James Barcia (D-MI) and has already found 122 sponsors.
