Suspect Arrested in WI Planned Parenthood Clinic Bombing

A suspect was charged yesterday in the April 1 bombing of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Grand Chute, Wisconsin. The Associated Press reports that Francis Grady, 50, was charged with “arson of a building used in interstate commerce and intentionally damaging a facility that provides reproductive health services.”

In a statement released yesterday, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin president and CEO Teri Huyck thanked law enforcement, saying “as a trusted nonprofit health care provider, patient health and safety is our top priority. We applaud law enforcement who were able to work so quickly to apprehend a suspect. Violence in our society should never be tolerated.”

The suspect is being held without bond. No injuries were reported in the attack, and the clinic experienced only minimal damage from a fire caused by the bomb.
