DC Web Women and San Francisco Women on the Web will sponsor “Take Our Daughters on the Web” events on April 21st.
DC Web Women modeled its “Take Our Daughters on the Web” events after the Ms. Foundation’s annual “Take Your Daughter to Work Day.” President Jeanne Marshall explained, “Take Our Daughters on the Web is an opportunity for DCWW to help the future generation of women realize the benefits and earning potential of careers in new media.”
In its third year, the event will include 2-hour workshops for girls in 5 different DC-area locations. Through the workshops, girls will learn how to create a Web site through hand-on experience. The girls will also learn about Web-related careers and online safety issues.
San Francisco Women on the Web will sponsor similar events in California on the same day. For more information, check out http://www.dcwebwomen.org
