Turkey: Door-to-Door Sex Education Program Planned

Turkey’s Health Ministry has approved a $12 million door-to-door sex education program to stem rapid population growth and high infant mortality rates there.

Volunteers for the program will visit women in their homes and teach them about contraception and general reproductive health.

Turkey’s population is growing at four times the rate of France’s population, and twice as fast as the U.S. population, despite high rates of infant mortality in the country’s southeast region.
