After a head-shaving party last weekend, about 90 freshman cadets at the Virginia Military Institute have been punished, including two women. All have been confined to campus until their hair grows back to “regulation length,” said officials. Each year, freshmen usually do something together as a sign of bonding, such as wearing t-shirts one day instead of regulation shirts. Only two members of the Alpha and Bravo companies did not shave their heads, including one woman.
