Two Women Ski Antarctic Land Mass

Ann Bancroft, 45, and Liv Aresen, 47, are the first women to ski unaided across Antarctica. Their 2,400 mile journey began on November 13, and are expected to complete their voyage early this week, using parasails to ski the last 500 miles to the ice-ship that will take them home. Bancroft, of Minnesota, and Arensen, of Norway, are both former schoolteachers, and they set up a website chronicling their expedition (visit them at www.yourexpedition.com).
