Ventura Will Not Run for Senate in Minnesota

Jesse Ventura, former governor of Minnesota, announced Monday on “Larry King Live” that he will not run against incumbent Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN) and Democratic challenger Al Franken. Ventura cited the negative effect of increased media attention on his family as the primary reason for this decision according to The Star Tribune.

Despite his resolution to remain uninvolved in the race, Ventura highlighted his dissatisfaction with both candidates. He expressed disagreement with Norm Coleman’s pro-Iraq war stance and painted Al Franken’s 2005 move to Minnesota as politically motivated, the Star Tribune reported today.
