Wahid Nader and Jamal Nasser Aziz were arrested when U.S./Canadian border officials in Niagara Falls, NY found Nader and Mine Betoor of Toronto in Aziz’ car trunk.
Betoor was knocked out, imprisoned in a basement for more than two days, and then bound, gagged, and forced into the car trunk by her uncle and husband-to-be for refusing an arranged marriage.
The men planned to take Betoor to Nader’s home in San Francisco, where the two would marry. Betoor was treated for injuries at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and released. The two men have been charged with kidnapping.
