Women’s Leadership Summit Announced

The National Council of Women’s Organizations announced plans today to convene the leadership of over 120 women’s organizations to discuss the priorities and direction of the women’s movement, in wake of last Tuesday’s national tragedy. Replacing the originally scheduled Women’s Equality Summit, this meeting of national women’s rights leaders, representing over 7 million women nationwide, will provide a forum for leaders to discuss the challenges to and role of the women’s movement in the current crisis both domestically and globally. The Women’s Equality Summit, originally scheduled to take place next Tuesday, has been postponed until Spring 2002.
